Basically its the same for us Catholics, we hunt people for Jesus..
(i dunnow what's the connection, but I just remembered this quote from a friend) Well I came from a religious family, my mom and my dad, but since my siblings and I grew away from my parents, we didn't actually planned to follow the custom. I studied in a Catholic school all my life, and it was really good im telling you. I liked it alot, specially if you're a teachers enemy like me, ohoho, it was tough, but it was worth it. Our school is small compared to those other Catholic school that are really enormous, in one class were like 25-30 students, and in the Philippines, students dont transfer to other room when its time for the next class, hell no! Its the professors responsibilty to stand up and go to their next class if the bell rings! In Catholic school its also different, all students must be disciplined, (except for me, i dont need one) because all of us are girls, we have to wear bloomers or cycling shorts whenever we go to school. its part of our uniform, if your'e not wearing one, then later on you'll recieve a spanking missy! (that's why when I get home my legs would look like purple yams.)
First Friday of the month is my most hated day in my calendar back in those days. First Friday of the month means going to the school church and pray and sing and pray and sing again and pray and you know, its continuos. I never liked praying specially if you don't really mean it. For me, praying is something sacred. Something that you would do without boring yourself. So I asked our Religion professor (yes, its like a special class that can only be found in Catholic schools) why do they force some kids (including me) to go to mass every first friday, even if they dont want to, and pretend they're nosebleeding. Well, he told me a passage in the bible which obviously didn't caught any of my attention. After that talk I had a C- in my report card, which made my sisters' head explode to million pieces! I know how she feels, I mean just imagine an A turned into C- just because of a stupid question that can't be answered by mere humans.
I also remembered my teachers in my school, they're mixed with nun's and priest's, and some of them are just teachers..(sad) Well all of them hated me, they hated me because I don't follow school rules, im messy, I always forget to wear my bloomer/cycling shorts, I don't do homework, I always copy my friends trigonometry homework, ( I mean seriously, who wants to study triangles??) im always late, (even though my house is like 10min. walking) well I did alot of things in my high school years just to piss my professors.
